At least six people were killed and two others injured in a fierce clash involving gunfire between two rival groups in the Shah Hassan Khel area of Tehsil Paharpur.
Five members of one group and one from the other died during the exchange of fire.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital. Police said the incident stemmed from a long-standing personal enmity.
