Assembly Speaker Swati leads parliamentary delegation in meeting with Envoy Baker

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the US on Tuesday discussed prospects for cooperation in various sectors, including sports, tourism, minerals, energy and power, education, parliamentary cooperation and capacity building.
This was discussed during a meeting between US Chargé d’Affaires in Pakistan is Natalie A Baker and K-P Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad. All parliamentary leaders of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, provincial ministers and other prominent personalities also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on further promoting mutual cooperation between Pakistan and the United States, strengthening bilateral ties in various fields, and exploring opportunities for cooperation for the development and prosperity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The participants discussed prospects for cooperation in various sectors, including sports, tourism, minerals, energy and power, education, parliamentary cooperation and capacity building.
During the meeting, provincial ministers briefed the US delegation about investment opportunities in their respective departments and ongoing development projects.
The parliamentary leaders also held detailed discussions on the law and order situation in the province, public issues and other matters of importance.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati said that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa possesses immense potential in natural resources, minerals, tourism and its young population.
He said that promoting international cooperation and investment in various sectors could create new opportunities for economic activity, employment and development in the province.
The speaker said that the presence of all parliamentary leaders at the meeting was a clear reflection of the fact that the Assembly represents the people of the entire province.
He said the presence of all parliamentary leaders under one roof demonstrated their unity and shared commitment to working for the rights, welfare and goodwill of the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa without discrimination.
