The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken action against the illegal advertising and marketing of Signature City Housing Scheme, formerly known as Century Town, located in Mouza Gurha Bherta and Begga Sheikha, through social media, WhatsApp, YouTube, and other online platforms.
According to a spokesperson, Signature City was an illegal housing scheme, and its sponsors carried out publicity and marketing activities without obtaining the requisite approval from the competent authority.
The RDA has already initiated legal proceedings against the concerned persons, including the issuance of a notice under Section 12(5) of the relevant law. The Authority has also referred the matter to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Rawalpindi, seeking action against the illegal online advertisements under the applicable laws and regulations.
The spokesperson said that under Rule 46(1) of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules, 2021, sponsors were not permitted to advertise or offer plots or housing units for sale through print or electronic media, or in any other manner, without prior approval of the Authority.
