Five men were arrested on the charge of allegedly attacking a police team during a raid to arrest a proclaimed offender in Hayer.
According to an FIR, the police raided an under-construction gurdwara after receiving information that proclaimed offender Muhammad Ilyas was hiding there.
During the operation, a man allegedly alerted the suspect, helping him escape.
Police said the suspect, Muhammad Zubair, later called his associates who attacked the team with sticks and clubs. Constable Muhammad Waseem was injured and his uniform was torn during the assault.
