As Pakistan’s football revival gathers pace on and off the field, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has released “Sway,” a music project that brings together football, culture and artists from across the world.
Produced in collaboration with Humnava and co-curated by music producer Xulfi, the song was filmed in Hunza and Lyari, highlighting two distinct landscapes that have become part of Pakistan’s football story. The project aims to reflect the communities, supporters and players who have sustained the sport over the years.
The release follows a period of renewed success for Pakistan’s national teams. Earlier this year, the men’s team won the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament in the Maldives, claiming the country’s first football title in 35 years and its first standalone international tournament triumph in more than seven decades.
The women’s team also reached a milestone by making its first appearance at a senior FIFA-sanctioned event during the 2026 FIFA Series in Côte d’Ivoire, where it recorded an 8-0 victory over the Turks and Caicos Islands the biggest win in the team’s history.
PFF President Mohsin Gilani said the country’s football journey has been shaped by players, coaches and supporters who continued to back the game despite difficult periods.
“Pakistan’s football story belongs to every player, coach, supporter and community that has kept the game alive across the country,” Gilani said.
Speaking about the project, Xulfi said the song draws on Pakistan’s long-standing aspiration to see its national team compete on football’s biggest stage.
“Every World Cup makes us want to see our team on the world stage even more,” he said, adding that Lyari has produced both footballers and musicians whose talent has reached international audiences.
Featuring performers from several countries, “Sway” seeks to capture the growing momentum around football in Pakistan while linking the sport with the country’s cultural identity, presenting the game as a shared national aspiration rather than only a sporting pursuit.
