Pakistan Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh presented his credentials to Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Santo Domingo, formally assuming his role as Pakistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Dominican Republic, the Pakistan Embassy in the US said in a social media post on Saturday.
The presentation of credentials marked Ambassador Sheikh’s formal assumption of his diplomatic responsibilities in the Dominican Republic on August 19, as Pakistan seeks to expand bilateral engagement with the Caribbean nation across economic, technological and cultural spheres.
“During the presentation ceremony, both sides reaffirmed commitment to exploring avenues of collaboration in trade, investment, IT, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges to foster enduring friendship between Pakistan and the Dominican Republic,” it said.

According to the statement, the ambassador conveyed greetings and best wishes of the Pakistani leadership to President Abinader and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him.
“President Abinader commended Pakistan’s positive contribution to global peace and conveyed full support to our leadership in their endeavours that were both noble and impactful”, said the embassy.
