KARACHI:

NAB has initiated an inquiry into the alleged irregular allotment of five acres of state land in Karachi’s Malir area to a private company as part of its ongoing investigations related to the Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM).

According to sources, the five-acre government land was leased to the private company for 99 years. The land was allegedly allotted at 25% of its market value. NAB issued a call-up notice to the company’s CEO, directing him to appear before the investigating officer on July 15.

Sources said the notice also directed the company to submit the complete allotment file of the disputed land, details of its directors and shareholders, income tax records and registration documents.
