MIRANSHAH:
Two separate firing incidents in Bannu on Monday left an Elite Force police constable and a civilian dead while a woman was injured.
According to police, the first incident occurred within the limits of Thana Cantt at Peepal Bazaar, Daood Shah. Terrorists opened fire on Elite Force Constable Ahmadullah, who was present at a shop. The constable sustained critical injuries and was martyred on the spot. The attackers fled the scene after the assault.
DSP Rahmat Ali confirmed the martyrdom of Constable Ahmadullah, stating that the brave officer laid down his life while performing his duty. He said the sacrifice of the martyred personnel would always be remembered.
Heavy police contingents rushed to the site upon receiving information, cordoned off the area and launched search and patrol operations. Police officials said further investigations into the incident are underway.
In a separate incident in the Domel Pang area, a fierce exchange of fire took place between the Hathi Khel Aman Committee and alleged militants.
