Six terrorists killed in Panjgur IBO: ISPR

Recover weapons, ammunition, IEDs, vehicles from terrorists, says military media wing

Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) on June 3 and 4 in the Panjgur District of Balochistan, killing six Indian sponsored terrorists belonging to the Fitna al-Hindustan, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security forces conducted the IBO “on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan.” It added that during the operation, the security forces “effectively engaged multiple terrorist locations,” killing the six terrorists after intense fire exchanges.

According to the ISPR, weapons, ammunition, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and vehicles were also recovered from the terrorists, “who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.”

“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist found in the area,” the statement added.

The terrorism campaign, under the vision of Azm e Istehkam (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan, will “continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for successfully carrying out an operation against Indian-backed Fitna-al-Hindustan terrorists in Panjgur, resulting in the killing of six militants.

In separate statements, both leaders said that operations against terrorists under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam would continue until their logical conclusion.

President Zardari reaffirmed the nation’s resolve to eliminate terrorism, stating that Fitna-al-Hindustan and its facilitators would never succeed in undermining Pakistan’s peace and stability.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for neutralising the terrorists, who, he said, were plotting to harm the lives and property of innocent and unarmed Pakistani citizens.

The prime minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country and ensuring lasting peace and security.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has praised the security forces for a successful operation in the Panjgur.

He commended the forces for their bravery and professionalism after six Indian-sponsored terrorists were eliminated in a timely action that foiled their nefarious designs.

Naqvi paid tribute to the security forces and said that operations against such elements in Balochistan were highly commendable. He added that the nation stands with the security forces in the fight against terrorism.

Earlier, security forces killed 17 terrorists belonging to the Fitna al-Hindustan during a series of IBOs conducted across multiple districts of Balochistan following the May 24 train incident, the ISPR had stated on Tuesday.

The operations were carried out in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar, and Ketch districts as part of an intensified counter-terrorism response.

The media wing had also revealed that a large cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and prepared IEDs were recovered from the slain terrorists.
