Pakistan finished their World Nomad Games campaign with four bronze medals, with athletes winning medals in tug-of-war and mass wrestling.
According to details Tayyab Raza Awan secured bronze in the 1×1 tug-of-war competition after a strong run that saw him defeat opponents from Russia, Georgia and Britain before beating Iranian competitor in the bronze medal contest to finish at the victory podium.
Pakistan also claimed bronze in the 8×8 tug-of-war event after defeating Iran in the third place match. The team had earlier beaten India and competed against Britain, Russia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Brazil and Georgia.
In mass wrestling, Mohammad Asim won bronze in the 90 kilogramme category after defeating an Iranian wrestler in the bronze medal bout.
Iqra Naseeb added another bronze in the 90kg plus category, taking Pakistan’s medal tally to four.
Pakistan competed in equestrian, mass wrestling, tug-of-war and archery at the Games, which are scheduled to be formally closed on Sunday.
The country’s athletes faced competitors from several nations during the competition, with the tug-of-war teams in particular producing notable results against strong opposition.
The four bronze medals provided a positive finish to Pakistan’s campaign at the Games, where athletes competed across traditional and indigenous sporting disciplines.

“It was a fine run. The athletes did well and we are happy with the outcome,” a Pakistan contingent official told this correspondent from Bishkek.
The World Nomad Games are an international sporting and cultural event celebrating the traditions of nomadic peoples, particularly those of Central Asia. Established in 2014, the Games feature traditional sports including wrestling, archery, horse racing and tug-of-war. This was the sixth edition.
