PML-N reviews election strategy, orders door-to-door campaign and mobilisation of supporters across the region

MUZAFFARABAD:

The central leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) held a key consultative meeting with party leaders on Friday to review the arrangements for party president Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s upcoming visit to the region and arrangements for election rallies.

The participants decided that Nawaz would address two major election rallies in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur during his visit to AJK. CM Maryam is also expected to accompany him at both public gatherings.

The meeting reviewed the party’s election campaign, organisational coordination, rally arrangements and overall electoral strategy. The leadership directed party workers to further intensify the campaign by launching an extensive door-to-door outreach drive and mobilising supporters across the region.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Engineer Amir Muqam said the PML-N would run a vigorous election campaign in AJK, adding that resolving public issues and ensuring the region’s development and prosperity remained the party’s top priorities.

He said the PML-N government had completed several major development projects in AJK and noted that the premier had announced the establishment of Daanish Schools in the territory without any formal demand from the AJK government.

Muqam stressed the need for timely, free and transparent elections, describing them as the most effective means of addressing the public’s problems. He said the PML-N leadership had a longstanding commitment to the people of Kashmir and had always stood by them during difficult times.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants expressed confidence that the party would secure victory in the July 27, 2026 AJK general elections based on its public service record, development agenda and governance performance.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister’s Adviser on Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah, Muqam, PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, Captain (Retd) Muhammad Safdar, PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa General Secretary Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Abdul Rehman Arain, Barrister Iftikhar Gillani, party candidates from various constituencies, local government representatives and workers.
