As rain swept across the city and turned low-lying areas into waterlogged zones, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Vice Chairman Chaudhry Shehbaz Ahmed, Director General Punjab Tayyab Farid and Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed directed that all major roads and underpasses be kept clear and all field teams remain active.
In areas experiencing power outages, disposal stations were ordered to be operated on generators. All pumps at disposal stations were directed to remain operational with screens kept clean, and all town directors were instructed to maintain complete monitoring of their respective towns.
According to WASA officials, underpasses and main roads across the city remained clear as drainage operations continued in urban areas.
Heavy rain was also reported across various areas of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) region, causing 65 feeders to trip.
The LESCO administration appealed to consumers for cooperation in view of the adverse weather conditions. Citizens were asked to inform LESCO in the event of power suspension and to wait for staff to arrive.
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi directed supervisory officers to remain active in the field and deployed additional personnel at underpasses, where wardens were assisting commuters.
Citizens, especially motorcyclists, were advised to drive carefully. The CTO, appealing for citizens to travel safely, cautioned residents and wardens alike to stay away from electrical installations.
Citizens were also warned not to stand under dilapidated trees or large billboards, given the strong winds, while Shirazi directed those in need of immediate assistance and guidance to call Helpline 15.
