The funeral prayers of Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom after sustaining injuries during an intelligence-based operation against Indian-sponsored terrorists in Balochistan, were offered at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, the military’s media wing said.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the funeral prayer of Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed, a resident of District Sargodha, was held at Chaklala Garrison.
“The brave son of the soil embraced martyrdom yesterday, consequent to injuries sustained while leading his men and fighting valiantly during an Intelligence-Based Operation against Indian-sponsored terrorists in Balochistan,” the statement added.

According to the ISPR, the funeral prayer was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, federal ministers for interior and information, senior serving and retired civil and military officers, relatives and a large number of citizens.
Paying tribute to the martyred officer, the prime minister lauded his bravery, devotion to duty and commitment to the defence of the country.
The premier reaffirmed that the armed forces, with the support of the nation, remain determined to eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism and its facilitators.
“The supreme sacrifices rendered by our martyrs further strengthen the nation’s resolve and reflect Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its peace, stability, and sovereignty at all costs,” said the prime minister.
The ISPR said the martyr would be laid to rest in his native town with full military honours, adding that the armed forces, along with the people of Pakistan, paid tribute to the fallen officer and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
