LCCI says policy consistency, regulatory relief needed to project positive global image

Pakistan possesses immense natural resources, tremendous human capital and vast economic potential, with nearly 65% of its population comprising youth, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheemur Rehman Saigol said, stressing the need for collective efforts to project a positive image globally.
Speaking at a seminar on “Branding Pakistan: Building a Soft Image,” Saigol urged all stakeholders, including the government, private sector, intellectuals and civil society, to work together for national development, poverty alleviation and strengthening Pakistan’s international standing.
Former LCCI President Mian Anjum Nisar highlighted difficulties facing the industrial sector and stressed the need for policy consistency, investment-friendly regulations and greater support for local industry. He said industrial growth is vital for economic stability and exports.
Journalist Jugnu Mohsin said Pakistan’s soft image cannot be built through publicity campaigns alone but through justice, good governance and respect for citizens. “A positive image emerges when ordinary citizens experience fairness, dignity and equal opportunities,” she said. She stressed the importance of preserving historical landmarks and ensuring merit-based governance.
Senior journalist Mujeebur Rehman Shami said despite challenges, Pakistan possesses enormous strengths and has demonstrated resilience in diplomacy, sports and national defence. He emphasised the need for political stability and national cohesion.
