The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is delighted to announce the arrival of the Korean National Hockey Team in Islamabad last night for a four-match FIH-approved international test series against Pakistan.
The visit marks a historic milestone for Pakistan hockey, as it is the first time in nearly 20 years that an international hockey team has toured Pakistan for an official bilateral series. The tour reflects the growing confidence of the international hockey community in Pakistan’s ability to host world-class sporting events in a safe and professional environment.
The four FIH-approved test matches will be played in Islamabad on 30 July, 2 August, 4 August, and 7 August 2026. The series will provide valuable international exposure to both teams and contribute significantly to Pakistan’s preparations for upcoming major international competitions.
President Pakistan Hockey Federation Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani welcomed the Korean team and described the tour as a landmark moment for the revival of international hockey in Pakistan.
“This is a proud and memorable occasion for Pakistan hockey. After almost two decades, we are once again welcoming an international team to our home grounds. We extend a warm welcome to the Korean National Hockey Team and are confident that this series will strengthen the longstanding friendship between our two countries while promoting high-quality international hockey.”
The Pakistan Hockey Federation expresses its gratitude to the Government of Pakistan, relevant security agencies, and all stakeholders whose support has made this historic tour possible.
The PHF invites hockey fans from across the country to attend the matches in large numbers and support the national team as Pakistan takes another important step towards restoring its place on the international hockey map.
