The EFCC in a statement gave the suspects’ names like Enitan Adekunle Abass Mukhtar, Olakunle Araoyinbo, Korede Adetule, Christmas Gabriel, Christmas Yole, Christmas Emmanuel and Harrison Obayogbono. Others include Usman Olalekan, Adewale Musibau, Oluwajuwon Shofuyi, Idris Abdulazeez, Oyeku Adeoye, Omilana Adeleke, Okeke Chucks, Peters Olamide, Abayomi Jones and Victor Kenneth.
The antigraft agency claims that the suspects were detained during a sting operation in the wee hours of Friday, September 27, 2019 in three distinct places from the Alagbado region of Lagos State, after intelligence reports obtained by the Commission from worried members of the general public in their alleged participation in the criminal pursuits.
During the raid, by taking refuge within the ceiling of the 22, about five of the suspects tried to escape arrest. They were, nevertheless apprehended by operatives of the EFCC.
Items recovered in the stage of arrest from the suspects comprise laptops, telephones, charms and five cars-Hyundai Sonata 2004 version, Toyota Camry Toyota Camry 1999 version 2007 version and Honda Pilot.
The suspects will be billed to court.
